I Love Japan!!

Well everyone..I think I'll stay here forever. Hahaha it's so fun
here. I love Japan so much. I love the people and the language so
much.

This week was pretty normal, nothing to crazy or exciting. Last pday
for dinner we went and God sushi which was amazing. Love sushi, it's
so different than the junk from America. Also last pday we went and
checked out a referral from a Brazilian family in our ward and the
referral turned out super awesome. We got to know them and then set up
a next appointment for the next day. We went back and then I taught
the whole first lesson by myself in Portuguese and they loved it so
much and loved the Book of Mormon and it was amazing and the spirit
was there so strong and then I asked them if they would be baptized
and they said yes but that they needed some time and we were totally
okay with that. We will continue to teach them and help them to get
prepared for baptism.

On Wednesday I street contacted two Brazilians and they were super
interested and we will be meeting with them later this week. I am
super excited. Honestly, here I speak 50/50 with Japanese and
Portuguese. It's awesome. And this is one of the lesser Brazilian
populated areas in the mission. Can't imagine what the heavily
populated Brazilian areas are like.

We also found a 20 year old Japanese guy who we contacted on the
street and me and elder jenks both testified very strongly that there
is a God and he was interested and we set an appointment with him
tonight. We will go and teach him tonight and I am so excited! We
don't get to many lessons in Japanese so I am way excited.

That's about all that's happened this week. I love it in Komatsu. Me
and my companion get a long so well. He does all the cooking and I do
all the cleaning around the house. It's the best. We both love
missionary work, obedience, and the lord. Wouldn't want to be anywhere
else.

I know this church is true and I know the Book of Mormon is true. I
know we have a God who is our Heavenly Father and I know he loves all
of us. I know Christ lives and is our savior and redeemer. I know we
can return to live with God and Jesus Christ again. I know that if we
have faith we can do anything through Christ. This is my testimony and
I go and preach it each and every day and it changes other people's
live and mine.

I love each and everyone of you.

First Week in Japan.

Well I made it!!!! Leaving the mtc was awesome!! We had a good couple last days as a district and it was sad to say bye to everyone. I grew really close to 2 of the elders in my district and I really miss them but it's okay cause we already plan to meet again in 2. The flight here was super long but it's whatever. I talked to the Japanese lady next to me so that was fun. My Japanese was bad but we managed to communicate enough that she understood my message. Then we got to Japan and my mission president picked us all up and we went to the mission home. The mission home was nice and then the next morning we got up had a quick orientation and then met our trainers and took off to our new areas. Me and him got to our apartment late Wednesday night so we didn't do much. My companion is elder jenks from Logan Utah. My companion is way cool and a great trainer. He pushes me to get better and helps me a ton with the language. All around great guy and great missionary.

Thursday morning we got up and did the usual. Then went to a lesson we had scheduled but the guy didn't show up. Then we went and tried to buy a bike but my card wasn't working (still don't have my own bike). I just use the bike of  a missionary who just left. After the bike ordeal we went to the bishops house and helped his wife do some gardening. We do lots of service in the area.
Following service we just had planning and then after we went and taught akaiwa , English class. Akaiwa is super fun and it's super funny when the Japanese people try and speak English. But I use that's how I sound when I speak Japanese. Hahaha! Then as we were heading home we talked to this one guy , Richard, and he turned out to be Brazilian so I talked to him in Portuguese and then we set up an appointment for the next day.

Friday we went a visited with a family from the ward and then they took us to lunch. It was super good. After that we had a lesson with Richard but he didn't show up :(  also on Friday we came across two more Brazilians and it was awesome. One gave us his number and we have been trying to set up a lesson but it's been hard cause he works so much. Then to end the day we went home teaching with the bishop.

Saturday we started the morning of with a lesson with this crazy old guy. Weirdest lesson I've even been in, half way through the lesson he just bursts out into song. He ended the lesson Judy by being like oh yeah by the way in not interested bye and then just walked out. Super weird. Then for the rest of the day we just talked to people as we went around and visited less active members. Ended up being a fun day and I taught a couple lessons by myself. Lastly Saturday night we went and visited a newly baptized Brazilian family named the kasegi's and I got to meet them and they invited us to a party this morning. They are awesome. They are my favorite!

Sunday went to church and I had no clue what was going on but I did get to meet all the members which was good. I am so bad at remembering names here, it's soooo hard. Then for the rest of Sunday we went and visited people. We also got s new investigator last night as we were talking to people on our way to an appointment. He is a 19 year old guy named shogaku. Hopefully that works out!

Today is pday and this morning we went to the kasegi's house for their party and ate a lot of good Brazilian food. Soooo good. They also invited some friends and we got appointments to meet with all of them. Super awesome!!

I love Japan it's super pretty. Everything is better here I'm Japan. The toilets, the food, the air smells so good, everything is soooo pretty. I am so in love. The language is very hard but I am trying my best. There is no place I'd rather be!! I love each and everyday testifying of Christ and the Book of Mormon. It brings me so much joy! Every night we get back sooo tired but I love it so much.

I love you all sooooo much!!! Miss you tons! I think and pray about you all the time.

Also this morning I was reading this talk and thought I would share it because it was sooo good.

This is a quote from the talk that I really enjoyed and I find it to be so true of I am out here serving the lord with all my heart and trying to do his will.

“‘The whole meaning and joy of life,’ … lay in the search for perfection and understanding God’s will”--and, I would add, doing God’s will.

Take care!!
