Hello everyone! So this week was a fun one full of good lessons and lots of rain. I love the rain (NOT). It rains a lot here and we just go out and pretend like it's nothing. People sometimes look at us funny because of it. Hahaha! I've only crashed once in the rain so far since I got here so that's good. The roads and sidewalks here weren't designed very well for rain. They get very slippery. It's starting to cool down here and we will probably be seeing snow by mid December. Everyone here tells me that snow and winter here in Komatsu is the worst. FUN!
Well to start off, last Monday we had family home evening with a family in the ward and it was super fun. They are probably my favorite family in the ward and one of the people I will miss the most when I leave here.
Wednesday we had a super interesting lesson. We had a member come with us to teach this man who we had only taught one time before. His Japanese is super hard to understand so this time we brought a member to help. Well we sit down with him and as soon as we start talking about good he asks "where is heaven?" And my companion is just like "uhh I don't know..." Then the man just argued with the member for a long time. So really the lesson ended up being the investigator and the member bashing the whole time and me and my companion only understanding about 20%. In the end we just asked if he was actually interested and he said no so that's it for him. Hahaha. This week we are planning to stop by and just give him a Book of Mormon and invite him to read.
Thursday was elder jenks 1 year mark!!! Yay! He is an old man now. Hahaha we had a little bit of a busy day so we didn't really do much. The only thing we did was eat a lot of ice cream. Hahaha!
Friday was zone conference. That's always way fun and I always learn a lot. Love it!
Saturday we ran into a Jehovah's Witness and she just tried to bash with us. It was rather entertaining. Hahaha!
This week we taught our investigator family (the Diez family) 2 times. They are so awesome and are getting baptized this coming Sunday. We are so excited for them! They are so prepared and have changed their lives so much in order to be baptized. The Lord really does prepare people to receive the gospel. We just have to find them! This family has a special place in my heart and they have changed my life so much. I am so honored to be the one to help them on their journey home to their father in heaven. The gospel is so amazing and changes lives!
This week was so fun! I've had lots of people tell me my Japanese is getting a lot better so that's awesome. A lady at church yesterday couldn't believe I have only been in Japan for 2 months. Also all people are blown away that I speak English, Portuguese, and Japanese. It's so fun but so hard. It's getting easier to switch between them now but sometimes I still mix it up and people get confused. For example yesterday I bumped into a lady at church and said sorry in all the languages, I said " desculpe desculpe. Sorry sorry. Gomenasai Gomenasai." She was so confused after that. Hahaha! So that's my struggle here!
